1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
At YL camp just a week and half ago my girls talked about how they get so nervous about testifying or sharing their faith with others. We talked a lot about how we believe it's the enemy telling us we don't have enough head knowledge even though each one of these girls says they have stories of how they know God is real in their lives.
Why is it so hard for us to share what the Lord is doing in our lives? Why do we feel like we need all of the answers? Why do we strive to be perfect when each one of knows this will never be achieved?
Tonight a couple mormon missionaries came by and talked to us for a while. They were talking about the process of being a missionary for two years and how this works. I asked them if they missed their home and family... one of them said "what could be better than serving the Lord 24 hours a day and not worrying about anything other than that?". I think that is so beautiful... shouldn't each of us be doing that anyway?
Why do I fall short so often?
Lord show me your power.
